See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
Attractive pub built in 1759 overlooking the village green. The exterior has won Northumbria in bloom awards on several occasions. Inside, there is a split-level bar, pool room and lounge/restaurant - landlord Ian's curries on a Wednesday night are legendary. There is always a beer from local Mithril Ales on offer. Thursday is games night, Sunday is quiz night and there is monthly entertainment on a Saturday. The pictureque beer garden has a smoking shelter. Santa's sleigh sets off from here every Christmas Eve.
