Ale Trail 2024 - Blog

Check back during the Ale Trail for updated information on pub opening times, day trip ideas, feedback, advice, tips, pics and more.

[12th November]
Prizes have been allocated which brings a close to this years Ale Trail. Thanks to all the pubs who agreed to participate and thanks to the organisers within the Darlington CAMRA branch. Hopefully we'll see you again in 2025.

[12th November]
We had 10 completed Ale Trail Maps this year. A little down on last year so I guess it was a bit more difficult this time around, but well done to those who made the effort. We hope you found some new pubs that you will be returning to from now on. The prize draw will take place tonight and the winners will be posted here and on social media tomorrow.

Remember, feedback is key to help us make a better Ale Trail next year so please take the time to complete our quick survey Ale Trail Survey even if you didn't complete your map.

[29th October]
The Ale Trail has officially closed but you still have until Sunday 3rd November to hand in any completed maps for the prize draw which will take place on Tuesday 12th November.

We hope you enjoyed taking part and found some new pubs that you will return to.

Please complete the feedback questionnaire - see below - and check back next year.

[15th October]
Don't forget to take 2 mins (literally 2 mins) to complete a simple survey that provides valuable feedback to us. You don't even have to have completed the Ale Trail, just taking part is enough to provide us useful data. Ale Trail Survey

[14th October]
Just under 2 weeks to go and we're starting to see some completed booklets being handed in. However, if you still haven't made a start, 2 weeks is plenty of time to pick up a booklet and wizz around 18 of the best pubs in the region. Challenge on!!

[9th October]
Sadly our minibus plans didn't come to fruition but a small band still enjoyed a beautiful Autumn afternoon in Barnard Castle courtesy of the £2 capped bus fares.

We also called in to The Baydale Beck on the way back to collect those precious stickers!

[26th September]
Anyone joining us for outing to Newton Aycliffe on Saturday and starting in Darlington, we will be meeting in The Vault at 2:00pm for a pint before we catch the bus.

[23rd September]
We're over a week in and still no claimant for Fastest Finisher so you've still got time to get out there and win the special prize. We had a good group walk around town on Saturday and were able to show off our snazzy Ale Trail 2024 T-shirts. These are available to buy via the Ale Trail Facebook page and shortly via this website. Please check back.

Hope to see you on Saturday in Newton Aycliffe - see the Events page.

[19th September]
We're heading towards the second weekend of this years Ale Trail. Hopefully you've had a chance to pick up your map and have made a start. This Saturday sees our first AT Event - a walk around all of the Darlington town centre pubs on the Ale Trail. Feel free to drop in and out as we go around. If you don't know who any of the Ale Trailers are, look out for our brand new Ale Trail T-shirts:

These are also available to buy for £12: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfmKkJ004GK09U4b2RlW33GjTb2Q3_W5BkHL9KmfTJo3j7hZw/viewform

[10th September]
Only 4 days to go! Remember, when you have completed your Ale Trail, please spend 2 mins completing this survey: Ale Trail Feedback Survey

It will help us to make a better trail next year,

[4th September]
So what's new on this year's trail? Well we're excited to announce that the good people at 3 Brothers are creating some bespoke Ale Trail beers which will only be available during the trail. Keep checking the website and social media to find out when and where they will be popping up!!
